This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard information you provide through [franktalktherapy.com](https://franktalktherapy.com), our intake forms, and communications with our practice. Protected Health Information (PHI) handled in the course of psychotherapy services is additionally governed by our Psychotherapist–Client Agreement and applicable state and federal law. ## 1\. Information We Collect - **Contact information** you submit through forms (name, email, phone, address, date of birth, emergency contact). - **Clinical intake information** you voluntarily provide (reason for services, current providers, medications, allergies). - **Payment information** processed by third-party payment providers (Zelle, Google Pay, Venmo, and card networks). We do not store full card numbers on our servers. - **Technical data** such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected automatically for site security and analytics. ## 2\. How We Use Your Information - To schedule, provide, and follow up on therapy or consulting sessions. - To respond to inquiries and communicate about your care. - To generate invoices with the diagnostic and billing codes needed for out-of-network insurance reimbursement. - To comply with legal, regulatory, and professional-ethics obligations. - To maintain and improve the security and functionality of this website. ## 3\. Confidentiality of Therapy Records Information disclosed in the course of psychotherapy is confidential and will not be released to anyone without your written permission, except as required by law. Most states require reports if a client is suicidal or homicidal, or if a child or elderly adult has been abused, neglected, or is in danger of harm. These limits are explained in full in the Psychotherapist–Client Agreement you sign at intake. ## 4\. Third-Party Services We use trusted third parties to deliver our services, including Doxy.me (HIPAA-compliant telehealth video), payment processors, email providers, and website hosting. Each provider maintains its own privacy and security practices. We do not sell your personal information. ## 5\. Cookies & Analytics This site may use cookies and basic analytics to understand traffic patterns and improve user experience. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some site features may not function normally as a result. ## 6\. Data Retention & Security Clinical records are retained for the period required by applicable state law and professional standards. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; please avoid sending sensitive clinical details by unencrypted email. ## 7\. Your Rights You may request access to, correction of, or a copy of your records, and you may withdraw consent for optional communications at any time.
