Who this is for

## If any of this sounds familiar, you're in the right place.

This work is for men who are done pretending it's fine. You don't need the perfect words. You don't need to already know what's wrong.

- You've been carrying something for months, maybe years, and you haven't said it out loud to anyone.

- Something changed after a medical event — surgery, medication, a diagnosis — and sex hasn't been the same since.

- It's started to affect a relationship, and 'we'll deal with it later' has quietly become the whole strategy.

- The problem has gotten worse the longer you've avoided it, and avoiding it has become its own kind of problem.

- You've read enough forum threads and watched enough videos. You want to talk to an actual person who works with this every day.

- You've tried therapy before and it circled around everything but the thing you actually wanted to talk about.

About Paul

## You have come to the right place to find help.

Many men in our culture find it difficult to ask for guidance or information when it comes to sex, relationships, or their own emotional life.

Unfortunately, many see it as a sign of weakness. But research suggests roughly one in three men are dealing with some form of sexual challenge — erectile dysfunction, premature or delayed ejaculation, low libido, pelvic-floor issues, Peyronie's — and that's before we count the anxiety, depression, and relational strain that don't have neat clinical names. This practice exists to make it a normal thing for a man to talk about these directly.

How this works

## Four steps from first message to real work.

The first click is the hardest part. After that, it's a straightforward process.

1. 01

    ### Reach out

Send a short message through the contact page, or call the office. You don't need to explain everything — a sentence or two is enough. Paul reads inquiries himself.

2. 02

    ### A brief intake

We schedule a first session that's genuinely a conversation, not a form. You describe what's going on in your own words. Paul asks the questions that clarify what you're actually dealing with.

3. 03

    ### The work begins

Sessions are held over secure telehealth so you can attend from anywhere in New York or Connecticut. Weekly, biweekly, or short-term consulting — the cadence fits the situation, not a template.

4. 04

    ### You leave with direction

Whether this becomes ongoing therapy or a focused three-session consult, you walk out of every session with something concrete — an understanding, a next step, a plan.

Therapy for Men

## THERAPY & CONSULTING

Three ways to work together — pick the one that matches where you are right now.

### Therapy for Men

Medium to long-term psychotherapy for men working through anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, life transitions, and the emotional weight men are often told to carry alone.

### Sex Therapy

Focused sex therapy for men and men in couples — ED, low libido, performance anxiety, Peyronie's, post-prostatectomy recovery, intimacy, identity, and more.

### Consulting

Short-term, directional consulting — usually 2–3 sessions — to assess your situation, map the right resources, and build a concrete game-plan.

What makes this different

## A practice built around men, not adapted to them.

Nothing here is inherited from a general-population clinical model. It was designed from the beginning for men and for the specific conversations men rarely get to have anywhere else.

### A men-only practice

Every client here is a man or a man in a couple. The vocabulary, the pacing, and the emotional register are calibrated to that, not adapted from a general caseload.

### Frank and unembarrassed

Sex, bodies, shame, medication side-effects, complicated marriages, complicated identities — these get named plainly. You don't have to soften a question to make it acceptable.

### Telehealth across NY and CT

Licensed as an LMHC in New York and an LPC in Connecticut. Sessions are held over a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform from a private room, no travel required.

### A career spent on exactly this

Paul R. Nelson, LMHC (NY) / LPC (CT), is an AASECT Certified Sexuality Educator whose entire clinical focus is men's mental and sexual health. This is not a subspecialty within a broader practice.

What we help with

## Twelve areas of focused clinical work.

Each of these has its own dedicated page. If your situation is here, there is already language and a framework waiting for it.

What the work is actually like

## Collaborative, active, honest — and not a quick fix.

Therapy here is a working relationship. Paul is direct — he asks specific questions, offers observations, and will tell you when he thinks something matters more than you're treating it. This is not the version of therapy where the therapist nods for fifty minutes and asks how that made you feel.

At the same time, nothing is rushed. Change in the areas we work on — sexual functioning, long-avoided emotional patterns, the way a relationship has settled into its shape — takes real time and repetition. A single conversation can shift how you understand something. Actually changing how you live it usually takes months of consistent work.

You will not be handed scripts or promised outcomes. What you can expect is a therapist who has heard, in detail, whatever you're about to say, and who treats it with the seriousness it deserves.
